Diwali 2026 is Sunday 8 November. Harrow's Byron Park show is the night before, and Bhaktivedanta Manor's free festival tickets open at noon on 1 November.
Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026, and Harrow’s biggest public celebration is the night before: the Harrow Fireworks and Diwali event at Byron Park, Wealdstone, on Saturday 7 November. For the festival day itself, the largest gathering near the borough is at Bhaktivedanta Manor, just over the Hertfordshire border, where entry is free but only with a ticket. Those tickets go live at 12pm on Sunday 1 November.
The quick answer
- Diwali 2026: Sunday 8 November, with Annakut and Govardhan Puja on Monday 9 November, the dates Bhaktivedanta Manor gives on its own calendar (Bhaktivedanta Manor events).
- Harrow’s public show: Saturday 7 November, Byron Park, HA3 7QX. Free entry 12pm to 3pm, fireworks about 7.45pm, online tickets from £13.95.
- The temple festival: Sunday 8 November at Bhaktivedanta Manor, WD25 8EZ. Free ticket required, released 1 November at noon. No fireworks there.
- Family events in the borough: a Diwali kids’ day in Pinner on 1 November, and a pre-Diwali ghazal concert in Hatch End on 31 October.
Everything on this page comes from the organisers’ own listings, read on 30 September 2026. Nothing below is carried over from last year.
Byron Park: Harrow Fireworks and Diwali, Saturday 7 November
Harrow Fireworks bills this year’s event as a “BONFIRE AND DIWLAI EVENT”, with a “MEGA DIWALI SHOW” alongside the funfair, a world food arena, an inflatable park (weather permitting), henna, face painting and a licensed bar. Entry is free from 12pm to 3pm and the musical fireworks are at about 7.45pm (Harrow Fireworks).
The organiser’s Ticket Tailor checkout lists the event as running from 12pm to 11pm, with these online prices before booking fees: adult £13.95, child aged 3 to 15 £8.95, under 3s free, family or group of four £41.95, and a VIP pack at £39.95. E-tickets must be printed on paper, and online sales stop at noon on the day (Harrow Fireworks checkout).
It is a car-free event. Byron Road, Peel Road, Stuart Road, Belmont Road and Canning Road are listed as restricted to residents and emergency vehicles, and Harrow and Wealdstone station is about six minutes’ walk away. The full ticket table, the parking list and the contradictions on the organiser’s own pages are on our Harrow fireworks page.
Bhaktivedanta Manor: Diwali Festival, Sunday 8 November
Bhaktivedanta Manor, the Hare Krishna temple on Hilfield Lane, Watford, WD25 8EZ, is over the border in Hertfordshire rather than in Harrow, but it is the festival many Harrow families travel to on the day. The temple’s own Diwali page says (Bhaktivedanta Manor, Diwali):
- A free ticket is required for entry, including if you walk or arrive by taxi. Children under 5 do not need one. Arrive without a ticket and “we will not be able to let you in”.
- Tickets are released on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 12pm. Each ticket is a timed arrival slot; you can arrive up to 30 minutes either side of it and stay as long as you like.
- Darshan runs from 10am to 9pm. There is a stage programme (schedule still “TBC”), free meals for everyone, children’s Diwali games, crafts, face painting and henna, and a café selling hot snacks.
- Lights on the Lake: a Ramayan forest trail leads to the lake, where visitors can float a lotus candle. The temple says more than 3,500 candles will be on the water by nightfall.
- There will be no fireworks.
Parking is free on the grid and the fields, which the temple warns can be bumpy and muddy in November. There are no buggies on the day.
Shuttle buses. The manor sells separate shuttle tickets that double as your entry pass, valid only on the bus from the station you booked. If you book a shuttle ticket and then drive, “you will be refused entry”. Return buses run every hour, and the last one leaves the temple at 8pm. The 2026 page does not yet name the pick-up stations. Outside festivals, the manor runs a Sunday bus from Stanmore station (Bhaktivedanta Manor, bus service).
Diwali events in the borough
- Mehfil-e-Ishq by Tauseef Akhtar, Saturday 31 October, 7pm, Elliott Hall, Harrow Arts Centre, Hatch End. Billed as “a magical pre-Diwali evening” of ghazals. £30, £45 or £60 VIP; VIP includes a meet and greet (Harrow Arts Centre).
- Diwali Kids Celebration Day, Sunday 1 November, 10.30am to 12.30pm or 1.30pm to 3.30pm, Heath Robinson Museum, 50 West End Lane, Pinner. £7 per child, and the accompanying adult goes free (Heath Robinson Museum).
- Bollywood by Candlelight, Saturday 7 November, 7pm, the Great Barn, Headstone Manor. An hour of Bollywood hits on flute and tabla. £20, ages 11 and over, unallocated seating (Headstone Manor). It clashes with the Byron Park fireworks.
Harrow Council’s own events calendar listed no Diwali event of its own when we checked on 30 September (Harrow Council events).
Fireworks at home: the Diwali curfew
Fireworks cannot be set off between 11pm and 7am, except on certain nights. On Diwali the cut-off moves to 1am, as it does for Chinese New Year and New Year’s Eve, while 5 November runs to midnight. That is how Harrow Town Centre BID set out the rules during the council’s October 2025 enforcement campaign (We Are Harrow). The council has not said whether it will repeat that campaign in 2026.
Getting about that weekend
For Byron Park, use Harrow and Wealdstone station; for Harrow Arts Centre, Hatch End station is a short walk. Council car park charges are on parking in Harrow, and any closures that weekend will appear on Harrow roadworks and travel. Remembrance Sunday is also 8 November; see our Remembrance Sunday page for the borough’s services.
Still to be confirmed
- Bhaktivedanta Manor’s main stage schedule, ticket time slots and shuttle pick-up stations, all “TBC” on 30 September.
- The Byron Park road closure order, which Harrow usually publishes on the Public Notice Portal. None had appeared by 30 September.
We will update this page when those are published. More in our What’s On section and on what’s on in Harrow this month.
