Harrow Today is an independent news and information site for the London Borough of Harrow. We report what the public record shows and keep the information residents look up most accurate and in one place.

Where we cover

All of Harrow: the Hill and the town centre, Wealdstone and Harrow Weald, Pinner and Hatch End, Stanmore and Belmont, Kenton, Rayners Lane, Headstone, and North, South and West Harrow. Pinner and Stanmore have kept their own identities and we write about them as their own places, but they sit inside one borough with one set of registers, and that is the level at which most decisions here are actually taken.

What we report

Planning is the biggest of it. Harrow’s planning register records what is being proposed on the street you live on long before anybody notices the scaffolding, and we go through it. Alongside that we work from the council’s committee papers and news, police.uk crime data, HM Land Registry sold prices, Food Standards Agency hygiene ratings, Environment Agency flood warnings for the Pinn and the Wealdstone Brook, and The Gazette. We also keep reference pages on bins, parking and council tax bands, and check them against the council’s own published information.

Our rules

Every fact carries a link to its source. Where a document is unclear, we say it is unclear rather than filling the gap. We do not publish press releases as though they were reporting, and we do not use another outlet’s photographs. We write in plain British English.

Tips and corrections

Email hello@harrowtoday.co.uk. Tips are read and treated in confidence, and corrections are made quickly and noted on the page. If we have got something wrong we would rather hear it from you than leave it up.

Harrow Today is published by the GOB Media Group, a UK media company. We are not affiliated with the council or any other body we report on.
